Wow! What a wonderful way to gather classroom ideas, project ideas, and useful ideas for planning projects. It is easy to use! Just type in your area of interest and projects pop up. Then, "pin" the ones you like. I will use aggregators, like Pinterest, to get ideas on setting up my class, both online and in the school building. Also, I can look for projects that support my lesson plans.
The strength of an aggregator, like Pinterest, is the volume of ideas that can be easily searched. Whatever your subject area, you can type in a few keywords and find something to support planning. But be careful! Advertisements are interspersed in the site. Make sure to click on the site and see if the information is useful and easily accessed. There is also a decent filter, but I would not allow students to access Pinterest at school. There is too high a risk of accessing something inappropriate. I can also see where Pinterest's excessive use could amass a large volume of resources, which would be difficult to manage. Lastly, the site allows the user to become easily engrossed in the vast amount of information. I think the user must keep an eye on the clock and use good time management.
Overall, this is a great site for educators! I would encourage any teacher to use Pinterest. I like the broad array of ideas. I also think an aggregate site allows for the information to be constantly updated and kept current. This is important for things like online learning with Covid19 isolation.
